PATI - Labuan "Diserbu"
Polis buru pendatang asing
LABUAN 7 Feb.
Mereka ditahan reman mengikut Seksyen 4 B (a) 1953 Akta Perjudian di kawasan terbuka.
Lelaki itu disiasat mengikut Seksyen 4 A (a) 1963 akta yang sama.
- Bernama

Urusan Letak Kereta Diambil Alih LDA Holdings
Announcing this in a notice, LC said it was mandatory for all vehicles parked at designated parking lots to display their parking coupons.
Parking fees remain at 50 sen for the first hour and 70 sen for each subsequent hour.
Purchase of season parking coupons could be made at the LDA office on the first floor of the Labuan International Ferry Terminal, while normal parking coupons could be purchased at the booths around town. These booths also accept payments for over-parking compounds.
Parking fees were introduced in Labuan in 1995 based on the Road Transport Rules for Parking Spaces and Taxi Stands.
Initially, the administration of parking fees was under LC but it was later privatised to at least two companies.
What had been reported was over RM1 million in parking fees remained unpaid despite various actions by LC, including warnings and an amnesty period for payment at a lesser charge.
At one point, the names of errant vehicles with huge outstanding amounts were also displayed at the booths.
According to some motorists, unpaid parking fees would remain a recurrent problem no matter which entity operates the service.
They noted that Labuan is an island and hundreds of vehicles from Sabah, in particular, drive over here via the ro-ro ferry.
"These motorists would likely not be bothered to pay the parking fines since they are on short-term stay on the island, and there is little LC could do," said one motorist.
Some suggested that all the parking fee booths sell the coupons as a way of encouraging motorists to buy coupons and pay for over-parking.
They said though LC had appointed agents to sell coupons there were no signages on premises selling such coupons.
